This book by film makers from the BBC contains twelve sketches depicting the everyday life of Soviet citizens from all walks of life, living as far afield as Tallinn in Estonia to Samarkand in Uzbekistan and Nakohda in the Far East. Published only a few years before the fall of Communism (1985), the book gives valuable insight into Soviet life at the time, with reflections on how far things have come since Stalin and the Second World War.
Contains colour photographs of the subjects in their surroundings. Another valuable find at my local library!
